From January 25 – January 31, 2020, Honorary Consul General Cynthia L. Blandford hosted a medical mission to Liberia for 40 Doctors, Nurses and Educators from Operation Renewed Hope (ORH). These ORH team traveled to Liberia to perform both medical, eye and dental work for those in need in the Gbarnga area of Bong County. The ORH team also brought medical supplies and equipment into the country.
The ORH team met with the Minister of Health, the Mayor of Gbarnga, and others. Operation Renewed Hope is a non-profit organization celebrating almost 30-years of providing medical, educational, and humanitarian relief to over 40 nations around the world. ORH is partnering with The Lord Shepherd Hope Foundation in Liberia and conducted a free medical clinic for over 1,000 Liberians.
