April 17, 2017
6 p.m.-9 p.m.
You are cordially invited to join His Excellency, Joseph N. Boakai, Sr.,
Vice President of the Republic of Liberia
In a Fundraising Event in Support of Barefoot Children of Liberia
&
An Inaugural Book Signing
In his book “From Foya to the Capitol” the Vice President meticulously illustrates the long cold morning walks (barefooted) from his village to school; then, the farm. He did not mind the cold morning walks to school, but hated walking barefooted! His parents could not afford to buy him shoes.
During conversations in public gatherings, he has unequivocally lamented the perils of walking barefooted from his village to school. Associated with walking barefooted are (1) burns from walking on the hot ground and rocks, (2) cuts from sharp objects, thorns, nails, and broken bottles, and (3) infections from unknown bacteria that cause illnesses that last a long time. His vision has always been to provide shoes for Barefoot Children in order to prevent infections and illnesses.
The Patriots For Liberia’s Transformation in collaboration with the Joseph Boakai Campaign for Barefoot Children and the African Bible Colleges Inc, is sponsoring this event.
