The Honorary Consul General Republic of Liberia
2009 – 2010 Newsletter
January 13, 2011

Dear Friends:

Happy New Year to all of you!

As many of you all know, I was appointed by Her Excellency Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia, in March 2009 and Commissioned as Honorary Consul General Republic of Liberia (HCG) in August 2009. Almost 15 months later, I wanted to share with you some of our accomplishments, community activities, and awards with a particular focus on the Government of Liberia’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS). We are also excited to announce that we will be opening the Liberian Consulate Office in the spring of 2011 and will be processing visas for all who will be traveling to Liberia. A Grand Opening will be announced soon.

I also want to say a special thank-you to all of the staff, volunteers, and friends and of course my family for all of your support throughout the year. We look forward to your continued commitment to help in the “Uplifting” of Liberia, and we encourage you to join us on a future trade, medical, educational, faith and cultural mission trip to Liberia for a life-changing experience! For further information, please visit our website at

May God Bless You and Yours in 2011!

All the best,

Cynthia Blandford Nash
Honorary Consul General Republic of Liberia

PS: A special note of thanks goes out to Evelyn Williamson and Candace Bazemore for all of your help and expertise used in the creation of this newsletter. I appreciate all of the good work you two have been doing for the Consulate and the Republic of Liberia along with my other colleagues and friends including Maryalice Moses, Layli Maparyan, and, Kyra Hatter.
